"Best Use of Mobile Marketing,
Relationship-Building"

LOS ANGELES Nov 29, 2006 (AP) - The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) ( www.mmaglobal.com ) today announced that Meijer and SmartReply received an award for the Best Use of Mobile Marketing, Relationship-Building. The award was presented last night during the MMA's 2nd Annual Mobile Marketing Awards dinner, which recognizes leaders and innovators driving development of the mobile channel.

Meijer and SmartReply deployed a campaign that appealed to consumer interests and drove customer engagement and loyalty with the brand, said Laura Marriott, executive director of the MMA. By using opt-in, this campaign, which notified consumers of gas price increases over the summer months, is a great example of how mobile marketing can be used to drive interactions with your target consumers. Congratulations on your win.

This year's MMA 2nd Annual Mobile Marketing Awards program demonstrated marquee achievements made within the last year. Judges, representing brands, carriers, press, analysts and agencies, were faced with a difficult task of reviewing numerous entries across eleven categories.

Meijer, as the original supercenter as always had innovation at its core and drives customer convenience through technology whenever it can. Text messaging our customers about gas prices creates loyalty by sharing relevant information in an easy to use format, said Jeff Handler, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for Meijer. Using a mobile channel to communicate is one way we will continue to meet the ever-evolving needs of our customers.

We are very pleased that the MMA recognized our innovative marketing program with Meijer, said Mike Romano, SmartReply's Executive Vice President of Sales and Business Development. The concept of this program provided a text message two to four hours before any gas price increase of five cents per gallon or more to customers, allowing them to save money.
